invites you to the
8th National
Mini-Drama Festival
Dear Colleague,
It’s our great pleasure to announce that the
8th National Mini-Drama Festival, which follows
the seven previous editions 1996-2004, will take place in Warsaw,
4th – 5th June, 2005
The Festival is organized by the Music and Drama
Special Interest Group (MAD SIG), a section within IATEFL Poland,
in co-operation with our friends from CODN, Warsaw.
Groups of learners of English from primary, Gimnazjum
and secondary schools are welcome from all over Poland with performances
in English lasting up to 20 minutes. All topics, genres and forms
are accepted, including ready-made plays and sketches, book adaptations,
musical stories and original scripts. The Festival is non-competitive,
and therefore each group - regardless of age and merits - will be
awarded a diploma and a surprise gift.
The Festival will have four distinct sessions,
within which all the groups will perform, watch others perform,
take part in games and competitions provided by the Organizers and
finally join in the Awards Ceremony.
The detailed programme will be scheduled and sent out to participants
after all the applications have been processed. Please indicate
in your application what session would be most suitable for you
and your actors to perform (considering the travel arrangements).
A registration fee of 60 zł per group will be charged
on receipt of your application. The bank details will be sent out
to you together with confirmation of your participation in the Festival.
These funds will help cover the costs of the Festival (P&P,
technicians, catering, etc).
Please bear in mind that the Organizers cannot
help you with any transportation or hotel arrangements, so if you
are planning to stay in Warsaw for a night or two, make sure you
book your hotel well in advance.
Please find enclosed the application form. Complete it in block
capitals and send it back to us by 15th May. All late applicants
run the risk of not being included in the Festival.
