Dear Colleagues,

IATEFL Poland and Willow Barnosky, English Language Fellow through the U.S. Department of State’s English language Programs

have the pleasure to invite you to the webinar

which will take place on Monday, 16th November 2020, between 20.30 and 21.30 CET.

Your registration will be made via Clickmeeting platform

10 Activities for Incorporating Critical Thinking

and Media Literacy Into Your Class

  Brief summary:
In previous webinars, we discussed how to recognize common logical fallacies and identify the language of bias in order to help our students improve their critical thinking and media literacy skills. This presentation will introduce a variety of ideas for developing media literacy skills using critical thinking.
Since most educators don’t have the luxury of teaching a dedicated Media Literacy or Critical Thinking course, we will review activities that can be used as short, stand-alone activities in the classroom.
We’ll also look at online games and quizzes that can be assigned as homework. All of the activities require little or no prep work, so participants can immediately try them out in their own contexts.
Additional sources will be shared so that educators can expand their own knowledge and repertoire of media literacy and related materials.

IATEFL Poland members have priority of registration for this webinar. Do not delay. The number of participants is limited.
Do not feel discouraged when the webinar room is full and you cannot access it.
All our webinars are streamed at www.fb.com/iateflpoland
After the webinar all participants will receive a certificate of participation.
