Teaching Students to Identify and Avoid Common Logical Fallacies

As educators, we are aware of the importance of supporting the development of critical thinking skills in our students. One aspect of critical thinking is the ability to recognize logical fallacies in order to identify false claims and evaluate arguments. In this session, we will review common logical fallacies and examine authentic examples online and in social media (Facebook and Twitter). Participants will be provided with communicative activity ideas for teaching students about logical fallacies in an entertaining and memorable way.
