It is our great pleasure to invite you to join us at our 21st ELTA conference on 19-20 May 2023, whose title _All Seas (Cs) of Teaching_,
may conjure Gerald Durrell’s words at the beginning of his enchanting book _My Family and Other Animals_ when he remembers his mother:
“Like a gentle, enthusiastic, and understanding Noah, she has steered her vessel full of strange progeny through the stormy seas of life with great skill, always faced with the possibility of mutiny, always surrounded by the dangerous shoals of overdraft and extravagance, never being sure that her navigation would be approved by the crew, but certain that she would be blamed for anything that went wrong.”
The parallel to a teacher in any classroom may seem appropriate as a teacher needs all the competencies and courage to face challenges, common sense seasoned with creativity to solve problems, capability to communicate the concepts of a particular content that comes from a curriculum, stamina to cope with all the classroom-related issues, creating connections among the cohort members so they will never cease to collaborate. A lot of Cs, right?
