41st ETAS Annual Conference 2025 – Luzern, Switzerland
On February 1st, I had the privilege of attending my first ETAS conference. Held in the beautiful, picturesque city of Lucerne Switzerland, this one day conference was packed with wonderful talks, workshops, and opportunities for networking. The weekend started off with the Friday night get together – a chance to meet with old friends and to make new acquaintances. The ETAS committee was warm and welcoming. Saturday was a full day in the modern and massive University of Lucerne building overlooking the River Reuss.
Some of the speakers included: Annie Altamirano from TESOL Spain, fellow Bostonian Tery Lemanis for Hamilton House, IATEFL Poland’s own Geoff Tranter, Daniel Xerri from ELT Council Malta, Regina Szuszkiewicz from Regipio, IATEFL BESIG Joint Coordinator Marjorie Rosenberg, Trinity College’s Anna Bennett, IATEFL BESIGers Ian McMaster and Ridha Mejri, Gordon Lewis from Burlington English, and many more.
I huge thank you goes out to ETAS President Rachael Harris and Vice-president Pamela Gonzalez along with coordinators Sonja Vigneswaren and Katie Hayoz and the rest of the team for a well-planned and exciting event that I highly recommend attending.
Rob Howard
IATEFL Poland President
