Dear Colleagues,

IATEFL Poland, Tamari Dolidze, Associate Professor of BSMA/PI, and Natia Vasadze, Associate Professor of BSMA

have the pleasure to invite you to the webinar:

AI Meets ESP: Enhancing Critical Thinking in the Specialized English Classroom

which will take place on Wednesday, 30th of July 2025, from 20.30 to 21.30 CET.

Summary:

As AI tools become increasingly integrated into professional environments, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) education must evolve to prepare learners not only for language demands but also for critical thinking in tech-driven contexts. This webinar explores how AI-powered tools can be effectively used to promote critical thinking in the ESP classroom across disciplines such as business, law, and maritime studies.

Participants will discover practical strategies to incorporate AI platforms—such as chatbots, language models, and intelligent writing assistants—into lesson plans that encourage analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving. The session will also showcase how AI can simulate real-world scenarios, personalize learning, and provide immediate feedback that deepens engagement and critical reflection.

By the end of the session, educators will be equipped with concrete ideas and digital tools to create learner-centered, thought-provoking ESP environments that align with the demands of 21st-century communication.

During the webinar all participants will be provided with a certificate of participation, which they will be able to download.

IATEFL Poland members have priority of registration for this webinar.
