Learning by reflection
Olena Lysytsia
Summary
In today’s hectic world, a critical look at what you do and how you act is more important than ever, especially for teachers and students who might find themselves lost dealing with unexpected situations. In this session, we will look into the theory and practice behind reflective teaching and learning. We will also evaluate who a reflective teacher is. We will explore how reflective practices can empower teachers to effectively address the challenges of everyday teaching. In addition, we will explore how beginning teachers can use reflection to develop their teaching identity, gain confidence, and establish a great start for their teaching career. By exploring the principles of reflective learning, we will look at ways to engage your students cognitively and provide deeper learning experiences while preparing your students to take international language exams.
