Your female ADHD student. Bridget Jones’s case

Ewa Grzelak-Takalska

Summary

Bridget Jones was never diagnosed with ADHD (and that’s for many reasons) although she has a wide spectrum of symptoms. When we meet Bridget, she is not a student anymore and we know very little about her educational experiences - but we can learn what to expect! During the practical part we are going to analyse some of Bridget’s behaviours, send her to a language course and observe what kind of struggles she goes through. Statistically, at least one of your students is Bridget. Be ready to meet and support her. There is no compulsory reading for this meeting but it might be a nice excuse to read ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ again.

Biodata

Ewa has been a very good language teacher for nearly 20 years but she was also a really bad student. Quite recently diagnosed with ADHD, she is now obsessed with tracking its symptoms wherever she goes, especially if she is among women.
