What's it mean, it's different, spoken grammar?

Jon Hird

Summary

Spoken grammar can be defined as elements of natural spoken communication, but which have not yet become part of our everyday teaching syllabuses. This practical session, which follows on from my 2024 session, looks at some further key aspects of teachable spoken grammar and explores how we can incorporate this into our teaching and into our materials writing to help our learners better understand and use it.
