Summary
This workshop equips ELT professionals with strategies to enhance students’ listening skills through empathy and active engagement. Participants will explore practical techniques for deepening comprehension, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity. Special attention will be given to integrating mindfulness approaches that reduce listening anxiety and enhance focus, enabling learners to become more attuned listeners. Participants will leave with adaptable tools and lesson ideas that can be seamlessly incorporated into diverse classroom settings, enabling students to navigate complex, real-world communication scenarios with authenticity and respect
Biodata
Julia Aliverti is an experienced EFL Educator (MEd in TESOL, MA in Philosophy and the Arts) working in Greece and abroad. Vicky Chionopoulou is an ELT practitioner with professional experience in Greece and the UK teaching young learners, teenagers and adults.
