Summary
This live lesson is based on my PhD study, which focuses on a contrastive genre-based analysis of music reviews. Teenagers will explore the world of (music) journalism using "Rolling Stone" as a primary resource. The lesson will begin with engaging activities where students will learn selected keywords and phrases related to journalism. They will then analyse the magazine covers, culminating in the creation of their multimodal covers. These activities are designed to integrate language skills within a positive educational framework. The audience will leave the session with a fully prepared lesson plan to implement in their teaching practice.
Biodata
Urszula Majdańska-Wachowicz holds a PhD in Linguistics, an MA in English, an MA in Polish with a specialisation in Journalism. She is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Modern Languages at Zielona Góra University and teaches English at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące w Głogowie. Additionally, Urszula volunteers for IATEFL Poland.
