Innovative Synergies: Combining Design Thinking and Emergent Collaborations in ESP
Aleksandra Łuczak
Summary
Drawing on authentic classroom experience, participants will discover how the integration of design thinking and emergent collaboration enhances language learning and professional skills through iterative problem-solving and teamwork. Practical activities such as case studies, case note presentations, designing surveys, collaborative report writing, creating maps of trends, designing infographics, pitching a start-up, creating AI tutors for more efficient learning and feedback, and compiling resource banks for plain language(s) will be showcased as effective tools to engage learners in real-world tasks. This method transforms ESP classrooms into dynamic environments that mirror the collaborative demands of specialised professional fields.
