Sing your way to teaching

Viktoriia Malichenko

Summary

Some lyrics are simply stamped into our memory, and being catchy is not the only reason, as music helps us create strong neural connections, making it an invaluable asset in language learning. This workshop aims to convey that songs can be as effective as regular listening tasks from the course book because they activate multiple brain areas and enhance phonological awareness, which is crucial for learning to recognize new sounds. It also provides a step-by-step algorithm for turning any song into a lesson, including all stages, with detailed instructions for those willing to add a Dogme twist.
