Building Language: Using LEGO in Diverse ESL Classrooms

Marta Figura-Wasielewska

Summary

In today’s ESL classrooms, educators face the challenge of supporting diverse learners within mostly neurotypical groups. This workshop explores the benefits of a multisensory approach, with a focus on using LEGO as a practical, inclusive tool. Participants will experience a hands-on LEGO activity that can structure an entire lesson, adaptable across age groups. The session also highlights how tools like ChatGPT can support lesson planning and differentiation. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use strategies that engage students of all abilities—building language, creativity, and confidence brick by brick.
