Peer lesson observations as a staff development tool

Weronika Krzebietke, Aneta Antokolska

Summary

Peer lesson observations have been identified as one of the most effective tools for teacher development. It promotes reflective practice, collaborative learning, and professional growth (Handayani and Fithriani, 2024; Katal et al., 2022). In this talk, we will present an ongoing peer lesson observation project at the Center of Languages and Communication at Poznan University of Technology. We will talk about the three stages of the project: organising compulsory peer lesson observations for a staff of over 50 foreign language teachers, interviews conducted with chosen teachers, and peer-to-peer training sessions that drew inspiration from the lesson observations.
