Positive psychology techniques for enhancing teachers’ wellbeing

Summary

Currently teachers experience enormous pressure due to fast changes in educational environment brought in by constantly developing technology, professional development requirements, learners’ growing needs. To cope with this load, educators need to seek the ways to strike right balance between life and work. Positive psychology provides “lifelines” that help stay alert and motivated, avoid emotional and professional burnout. During the workshop participants would practice mindfulness techniques, come up with useful positive affirmations and resilience exercises. Moreover, certain guidelines will be suggested on boosting teachers’ professional motivation and personal growth mindset that are aimed at improving well-being and resilience.

Tetiana Kondratieva, associate professors of Ternopil Volodymyr University. Specializes in EFL teaching, literature and culture studies, Social and Emotional learning in ELT and Digital Games and Gamification in teaching. Author of research papers and publications I the mentioned issues. Presenter and organizer of workshops for pre-service and in-service teachers.
