Applying Augmented Reality for Mediated Learning

Summary
Augmented Reality is becoming a powerful tool offering exciting possibilities to EFL teaching by making language learning more immersive and interactive. It mediates learning process promoting collaborative learning and turning abstract concepts into more tangible. During the workshop mediation strategies aimed at elaborating a dense text, breaking down complicated information and adapting language will be demonstrated through integrated 3D-images, videos and audios, interactive tests and links to referential materials. The participants will be instructed on using ARtutor App and encouraged to devise their own scenarios for mediating a suggested passage with AR tools.
Biodata
Liudmyla Babii, Associate professor at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Ukraine. Specializes in EFL teaching and EFL teaching methods, CLIL, and is currently involved in designing a new course Digital Games and Gamification in ELT. Has extensive experience in conducting professional development workshops for both pre-service and practicing teachers.
