No Ready-Made Answers: Fostering Critical Thinking in the Classroom
Ada Przybylska
Summary
Students often look for clear solutions and educators feel pressured to provide them, this session explores what happens when we intentionally resist offering ready-made answers. Drawing on classroom experience and practical strategies, I will share how creating space for uncertainty, dialogue, and student-led inquiry can foster genuine critical and independent thinking. Participants will learn how to design learning experiences that encourage students to form their own interpretations, question assumptions, and engage with complexity — even when the outcome is open-ended. This presentation is both a reflection on teaching philosophy and a hands-on guide to cultivating a a thinking classroom.
