Turbocharge your lessons: 10 warm-up activities to boost student engagement

Summary
While many educators perceive warm-up activities as an indispensable component of language lessons, some still fail to recognize the advantages resulting from their implementation in the foreign language classroom. Although designing effective and stimulating warm-ups can be challenging and time-consuming, the effort is well worth it, as these activities boost student engagement and cognitive activation. The aim of this talk is to present a set of carefully selected warm-up activities that will not only engage students emotionally but also foster critical thinking and enhance their motivation.
