Summary
This session will explore how Ukrainian educators have fostered resilience and optimism during wartime by engaging in continuing professional development and seeking community support. Drawing on TESOL-Ukraine initiatives, including annual conventions, collaborative workshops, webinars, and mentoring programmes, the presenters will share 'voices of courage and vulnerability', as well as practical teaching strategies and tools for emotional and professional sustainability. Participants will engage in reflective dialogue, and gain insights into creating supportive learning environments, empowering students, and maintaining well-being.
Biodata
Serhii Petrenko, Ph.D., Associate Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), TESOL-Ukraine International Coordinator, teacher trainer, and mentor. He holds Delta, has presented at international conferences, workshops and webinars (e.g. TESOL, IATEFL, TESOL-Ukraine, etc.), facilitated multiple projects (British Council, TESOL-Ukraine). His hobbies are long-distance running and chess.
