Gone is TED, Long Live The MOTH! Storytelling worth spreading!

Marcin Stanowski

Summary

In a world of polished presentations, The Moth offers something more human—real stories told live, from the heart. This session explores storytelling as a powerful EFL teaching tool that fosters connection, fluency, and critical thinking. Drawing on The Moth’s archive, I’ll demonstrate how authentic narratives can build listening skills and intercultural understanding. Participants will learn how to guide students in crafting personal stories linked to global themes like migration, identity, and inequality. Storytelling helps students find their voice in English, speak with purpose, and connect meaningfully with others—inside and outside the classroom.
