Getting broken activities working at the ELT wrecking yard
Chris Roland
Summary
Why do the tasks we run, especially with teenagers, but also with young adults, or even more mature ones, sometimes disappoint, leaving us locked into familiar, frustrating cycles, like some ELT Groundhog Day? This is a nuts n' bolts salvage operation, down at the methodological wrecking yard, for whatever might go wrong in terms of learning, teaching procedures and task design. We shall cover grammar structures, speaking practice in pairs, correcting exercises, remembering vocabulary, dictations and group speaking. Purely about refining techniques - no apps or AI mentioned.
