Conference theme: ‘Quality in Language Education in Various Educational Environments’

The 24th IATEFL Conference will take place at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland from Friday, the 18th of
September, to Sunday the 20th of September, 2015. We would like to bring together language teachers from
different educational environments – kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as language schools.
However, this year, we would also like to talk about the challenges of teaching languages in the context of tertiary
education. Join us and take this opportunity to network with your colleagues in the historic city of Krakow,
famous for its academic, cultural and artistic life.

The event will be organised around the following topics:

  • Quality assurance in language education
  • Assessment and certification
  • Development of academic resources – online resources and learning platforms
  • Solving discipline problems in the classroom
  • Course design – relating course programmes to CEFR
  • Continuous professional development
  • Innovations in the teaching of foreign languages
  • Teaching soft skills through languages

Proposals are invited for the following types of presentations:

  • 60-minute plenary sessions, including discussion
  • 40-minute presentations, including discussion
  • 60- and 90-minute workshops
  • 60-minute panel discussions
  • 60-minute demonstration (life) lessons of different languages (with pupils and students)
