How to find out whether our teaching efforts get the target?
Some feedback techniques should be the answer!

Feedback issues are as old as the school itself, or older. Let’s have a look at some practical applications of feedback techniques. The presentation should help the participants to realize the importance of getting/receiving feedback in order to evaluate their students’ progress and enhance the teachers’ self-confidence.
Jacek Kaliciński Freelance teacher of several foreign languages and teacher trainer. Head of Foreign Language Centre PROGRESS Szczecin (since 1991). Language teacher and teacher trainer - Folkuniveristetet, Goeteborg, Sweden (1984 – 2009) Head of Foreign Language Department – Akademia Rolnicza, Szczecin (2006 – 2009).

Let it flow. How to keep spirits high and avoid trouble

In this presentation I’d like to share my reflections on what constitutes a successful lesson with young learners and teenagers. From formal writing through gamification to psychology, I’d like to present simple but effective methods that can make students eager to participate and learn. A practical approach to teaching.
Przemysław Łazaronek has been teaching all age groups and levels since 2001. Teaching is his passion and hobby. He worked at a public school for 11 years. Now he runs his private language school. Przemysław is a new IATEFL Poland Computer SIG Co-ordinator.

Practical Ideas for Training Reading and Listening

Reading and Listening are important communicative skills and need to be trained regularly. Very often, this not only requires different classroom activities, it is also a question of motivating learners to read and listen to texts. This practical workshop will demonstrate a variety of activities that can be used at various levels to help motivate learners of all ages.
Geoff Tranter regularly attends the IATEFL Conferences in Poland and Hungary offering a number of workshops and plenaries. He is now a free-lance consultant for a wide range of educational institutions and ministries including Ministries of Education and the German Federal Civil Aviation Authority. Author of “Using Humour in the English Classroom”.
