“Fostering Multimodal Literacy within English Language Teaching Pedagogy.”
which will take place on Wednesday, 11th of June 2025, from 20.30 to 21.30 CET.
Summary:
In this talk, we will explore the concept of multimodality and its benefits for language learners. As students are increasingly exposed to a variety of multimedia content, the development of multimodal literacy is crucial for their overall literacy and communicative competence. The talk will outline the theoretical foundations of multimodal literacy and its relevance to language learning. It will also provide a framework for incorporating multimodal resources and activities into the ELT curriculum to enhance student engagement and comprehension. However, the talk will not focus only on the benefits of multimodality but also the challenges language teachers might face when implementing multimodal approaches and offer solutions to overcome them.
