Anna Sołtyska (Zentrum für Fremdsprachenausbildung Ruhr-Universität Bochum, IATEFL TEA SIG) & Grzegorz Śpiewak (DOS-ELTEA, Macmillan)

IATEFL Poland invites you to attend this free webinar and join the discussion of two renowned experts.
An ideal moment (before the school starts) to ponder whether to test or not to test and if so, how to do it in a fair way.

How to use formative and summative assessment to the benefit of all stakeholders?

This interactive session is a follow-up to Anna Sołtyska’s spring webinar on “Cheating in online assessment” and will address fairness-related aspects of language assessment in various contexts and frameworks.

Grzegorz Śpiewak

Anna Sołtyska

I was born in Warsaw and am currently based in Germany where I lecture English for General and Specific Academic Purposes at the Ruhr-University in Bochum.

For over 20 years I have been active in the language teaching and testing industry and worked in various contexts (secondary and higher education, in-company and private one-to-one settings) in Poland and Germany.

In my role as a teacher trainer and presenter I have held workshops and spoken at conferences worldwide, including Great Britain, Finland, Russia, Egypt and Azerbaijan. My research interests include task-based learning, teaching and assessment, assessment-related malpractice, teaching foreign languages in plurilingual classrooms, validating assessment of writing skills and integrating mediation activities in language learning and testing.

In 2019 I established a working group “Language centres against academic misconduct” to promote awareness of academic integrity and non-cheating culture in educational contexts in Germany and beyond.

Welcome!
