Workshops Kirsty Bowie SOL:The Changing Face of English Language and Navigating the Online Learning Landscape
Exploring digital media as a language and cultural learning tool. – Using AI consciously and
ethically -Supporting digital media literacy – Utilising global video links to enhance
communication skills. – Promoting cultural understanding and inclusion.
When is it appropriate to use AI and when is it stopping students developing skills? When
does image editing go too far? When does using AI become unethical or detrimental to
education?
Using English-speaking video link resources and connections to students benefit in your
classroom. Celebrating culture through comparisons and realia.

Kirsty Bowie is Managing Director of Sharing One Language in Barnstaple which specialises in
English language and cultural development through student immersion programmes and teacher training programmes both in England and abroad. She has a special interest in
student engagement and global and generational diversity of language.
Scottish by birth, she has loved exploring language differences by locality in the UK and in
other English speaking countries and in the true spirit of lifelong learning has followed as
language has grown and developed through the decades and through technology.
Kirsty is a strong advocate of internationalism and cultural appreciation, loves travel, and
knows the true personal learning experience that it brings.
Originally a school teacher for many years practising cross curricular learning, she found her
heart in CLIL and ELT with a sideshow of being an assessment specialist.
Kirsty is also a qualified chef, project manager, and is completing a Master’s in law.
