Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to join us

on Saturday April 2nd, 2022 at 10.00 a.m.

for another IATEFL POLAND’s LIVE LESSON ONLINE

with URSZULA MAJDAŃSKA-WACHOWICZ and her lovely team of students:

“SYRIO”, “ELA”, “EGZITOWAĆ” – PONGLISH IN THE ENGLISH CLASSROOM

The live lesson is inspired by my research done on Ponglish (see more: IATEFL E-BULLETIN MARCH 2021). Simply put, Ponglish mixes some elements of Polish and English. The aim of the lesson is to show this fascinating outcome of English-Polish language contact in a funny and creative way. The lesson plan can be used when celebrating the European Day of Languages, the International Mother’s Language Day, or when you want to spice up your teaching routine. The webinar is suitable for teachers who work with teenagers.

Urszula Majdańska-Wachowicz has a PhD in Linguistics, an MA in English, an MA in Polish and Journalism. An English teacher since 2003, and a teacher-trainer since 2013, she works at the Institute of Modern Languages at the University of Zielona Góra and at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Bolesława Krzywoustego in Głogów. She has presented for IATEFL Poland at Szczecin (2016), Bielsko-Biała (2017), Wrocław (2018), and Gdańsk (2019). Also, she has published for IATEFL E-bulletins and IATEFL post-conference journals. In 2021, she ran IATEFL Poland’s 1st live lesson online.

 The workshop is free for IATEFL members and IATEFL friends.
 All the participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
 The event is scheduled to last until approx. 11:30 a.m. (the lesson will be followed by a short Q&A session)
