Maximizing the potential of your Coursebook

Summary:

Teachers are promised a virtual wonderland when looking at materials and yet very often the material does not satisfy the teachers when it is applied in practice. What are the reasons behind this discrepancy?

This webinar explores the various factors that might stop coursebooks from being fully functional.

We will discuss the place of the coursebook in the modern language classroom and we will see how our own expectations tend to shape the way we approach this teaching tool.

We are going to examine how poor initial choices, lack of in-school development of the material and over-extending the life cycle of the Coursebook can prevent any type of teaching material from reaching its full potential. Finally, we are going to look into how forcing the book to be taught in a way that it was not meant to be taught might make it less productive and unpleasant to teach.
