Brief summary:
In the steps of language acquisition, speaking can happen at an early stage, but it seems that the reality in our classes is not the case. Face to face, there are many ways to encourage and motivate our students to have confidence in the verbal production of their new language. I suggest that we revisit some of the tried-and-true ways as well as some possible new ways to get our students of all levels speaking. We will have the opportunity to share ideas, develop new ideas and put a new twist on all of our ideas.

UC Berkeley grad, brought up in a military family, has done many things in education in California and teaches English to all levels and ages in France.
