Learning a language—like learning to dance ballet, weave carpets, or play the saxophone—takes time and practice. In general, it’s safe to say that the more practice you get, the better you will become. That’s how I feel about understanding a foreign language, too. The more listening practice you get, the better you understand the language.

Kevin McCaughey

Kevin has served as RELO in South Africa, Ukraine, and Washington, DC. He has trained teachers in dozens of countries, from Madagascar to Yemen to Belarus. His areas of interest are classroom management, critical thinking, and making English learning wild and different. Kevin is a (non-electric) scooter enthusiast

The RELOffice promotes English teaching and learning in 16 countries, including Poland.

  • Kevin has done a lot of teacher training; he’s written many articles and a book on teaching, and he records his own music to use in teaching.
  • He also studied Polish for two months in Sopot.
  • In the early 90s he took a train to Krakow from Warsaw and sat in a compartment with Joanna Trzepiecińska, Jacek Wójcicki, and Ed Solomon (an American who wrote the screenplay to Men in Black)
