Associates’ Day is a unique annual gathering dedicated to representatives of IATEFL’s international partner organisations. Unlike the main conference, which focuses on classroom practice and pedagogy, this special event is devoted to strategic discussions on the development and management of teachers’ associations, including leadership, event organisation, membership engagement, and sustainable growth.
The 2026 meeting brought together delegates from around the world, creating a truly global forum for sharing experiences, exchanging best practices, and strengthening cooperation among English language teaching associations. The programme included short presentations, poster sessions, and structured discussions, offering participants practical insights into running successful professional organisations and responding to current challenges in the ELT sector.
Held on the opening day of the conference week, Associates’ Day also provided an excellent opportunity to build international networks and set the tone for further professional exchange during the main conference, which gathered thousands of ELT professionals from over 100 countries in Brighton.
