Inspire. Speak up. Grow.

The IATEFL Poland Public Speaking Contest is a nationwide competition designed to empower young learners to express their ideas confidently in English and to develop skills that will support them far beyond the classroom.

Why should students take part?

Participating in the Public Speaking Contest helps students:

  • build confidence and fluency in spoken English,
  • develop essential public speaking and presentation skills,
  • learn how to structure ideas clearly and persuasively,
  • receive professional feedback from experienced judges,
  • experience the excitement of performing on a real stage,
  • gain recognition through certificates, prizes, and national-level participation.

For many students, this is a unique opportunity to discover their voice, overcome stage fright, and turn language learning into a meaningful, personal experience.

Why is it worth it for teachers?

For teachers, the contest offers:

  • a motivating framework to develop speaking, pronunciation, and communication skills,
  • a chance to support students’ personal growth and self-confidence,
  • professional recognition for preparing successful contestants,
  • opportunities to connect with other educators across Poland,
  • the possibility of conference participation awards for teachers of top-performing students.

Join us!

The competition takes place in three stages: school, regional, and national, with the final held during the annual IATEFL Poland Conference. Students compete in age-appropriate categories, ensuring fair and inspiring competition for all participants.

Encourage your students to take on the challenge, share their stories, and experience the power of public speaking — in English.

Let their voices be heard.
