Summary:

Artificial intelligence can translate, explain grammar, generate essays, and even hold conversations in almost any language. But one thing it cannot do is learn a language for you. This talk explores why genuine language acquisition still depends on the learner’s own engagement, practice, and meaningful communication. While AI can be a powerful assistant, it cannot replace the cognitive effort required to build lasting linguistic competence. The session offers insights for teachers on how to support learning rather than encourage dependence, helping students use these tools without sacrificing the skills they are meant to develop.
