This webinar is titled: “Silence in the Classroom”
Summary:
Teachers are under pressure to cover a lot of material, and it is tempting for them to try and cram as much information and as many exercises into their lessons as possible. However, just as a well-designed poster will have patches of empty space, so a lesson can benefit from moments of silence, and not only when the class are writing. This session looks at some of the times that silence plays an important role in the teaching process. It also introduces some activities that teachers can use to bring creative silence into their lessons.
David Fisher’s Bio:
Educator and trainer, the Bear Educational Theatre
David Fisher is the founder and director of The Bear Educational Theatre, Prague. He is a teacher and teacher-trainer, but also a professional actor with several film and theatre credits. He specializes in applying principles from the world of entertainment to classroom teaching.
The Bear Educational Theatre from Prague is the longest-running professional English theatre in Central Europe. Over the last 28 years it has performed tens of thousands of shows for school groups, won awards, and built a strong reputation for combining quality entertainment with sound teaching methodology.
