Job description for
English language specialists
Context: The Ministry of preschool and school education of the Republic of Uzbekistan invites applications for an English-Language specialist position. The successful applicants will support language learning in secondary / high school classrooms in cooperation with local English teachers in secondary public schools.
Location: the Republic of Uzbekistan
Duration of contract: September 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024
Hours: Full time
Responsibilities:
- Lead small group and class English language practice under the supervision of the classroom teacher
- Support student language intervention or extension needs as planned by the classroom teacher or language methodist
- Support IELTS preparation during extracurricular time four days per week (1 hour each)
- Conduct practice sessions or workshops for local English language teachers (once per term break)
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in TESOL, TEFL, English or a related field
- Minimum 0-3 years of experience in teaching English at the secondary/high school level
- Experience of living/teaching abroad is highly desirable
- CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESL and TESOL certificates (an advantage)
