Diversifying BE Classes with Authentic Materials in Old and New Normal – a webinar by Tamari Dolidze

Dear Colleagues,

IATEFL Poland and Tamari Dolidze, Associate Professsor of BSMA/PI

have the pleasure to invite you to the webinar

Diversifying BE Classes with Authentic Materials in Old and New Normal

Description:

We all agree that authentic materials can be an invaluable resource for teaching intermediate and advanced students. However, teaching a news lesson is not as simple as cutting an article from a newspaper and taking it to the classroom. The talk will highlight a structured approach to integrating oral and written authentic material in response to these issues in the Old and New Normal in BE classes in Higher Education.

Presentation will highlight the importance of diversifying BE Classes with authentic materials, i.e.  TED talks, livestreams etc. in EFL classroom, Business English, and Business Communications in English during the pandemic and beyond.  In addition to the above-stated, a lesson plan used in one of BE classes will be presented as a vivid example of how authentic materials can and in particular news articles contribute to diversification of the BE classes through focusing on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and vocabulary practice to Intermediate and Advance level students.
