which will take place on Wednesday, 06.03.2024, Wednesday, between 20.30 and 21.30 CET.
Your registration will be made via Zoom platform.
This webinar is titled:
“From module to modular: why less is more.”
Summary:
Content heavy modules with lecture-based delivery styles are still the dominant form of teaching in many educational institutions (Bligh, 2000), therefore keeping students engaged through the learning process can prove challenging. To adapt to changes in the patterns of learner engagement brought on by digital lifestyles and instant communication technologies, the teacher-practitioner adopted a bite-sized learning strategy to her classroom practice while following Allwright’s (2002) principled framework of Exploratory Practice. This presentation explores the effectiveness of this bite-sized lecture pedagogy on the learning outcomes for a Business English Module in a higher education institution in the UK and explores why this methodology resulted in significant improvements in the assessed learning outcomes. The talk goes on to provide a detailed account of the qualitative feedback with a particular focus on how this approach had impacted the classroom ‘quality of life’ for both learners and teacher – a core principle of the Exploratory Practice framework.
During the webinar all participants will be provided with a certificate of participation, which they will be able to download.
IATEFL Poland members have priority of registration for this webinar.
Do not delay. The number of participants is limited.
