On Saturday, October 28th, 2023, four representatives of IATEFL Poland: Joanna Leszkiewicz, Lucyna Wilinkiewicz-Górniak, Małgorzata Bukowska-Ulatowska and Rob Howard, took part in the IATEFL Associates Online Conference. The plenary talk, titled From Teacher Motivation to Leadership Motivation, was given by Beatrix Price, a university teacher and researcher from Hungary. After the plenary session, participants were divided into four breakout rooms to listen to short talks by associate speakers on the following topics: managing change and overcoming challenges, innovation, engaging teachers, and leadership models. Room 4 was moderated by Lucyna, and the talk titled Leadership Insights: 4 Lessons from My Presidency at IATEFL Poland was presented by Małgorzata. During the final session, Gabriel Diaz Maggioli, IATEFL vice president, invited the event participants to imagine the future of the associations, emphasizing the importance of coming together for impact. The conference was conducted by Jean Jean Theuma, IATEFL associates’ representative. This event provided a valuable experience, and we are excited to see how it evolves in the future.
