“Quoting on Taboo Issues in Language Classes: Being in War Zone or in Combat Area?“
The aim of the webinar is to attract attention to taboo and closed topics, the issues much ignored in class but heavily discussed outside its boundaries. Students’ individual interests in taboo topics likewise those of teachers vary and shift. We shall examine the paths an educator could resort to gauge learners’ comfort levels by offering diverse materials from these delicate and not only spheres. From our standpoint the resources with controversial subjects comprise a bulk of exquisite authentic materials for the creation of a great variety of assignments to activate mastery of receptive and productive skills, to provide grounds for motivation, to rise interest in culture studies and develop visual literacy. During the webinar we shall explore their topicality, examine their variety, and outline the areas of classroom application as well as present-day vitality.
During the webinar all participants will be provided with a certificate of participation, which they will be able to download.
IATEFL Poland members have priority of registration for this webinar.
Do not delay. The number of participants is limited.
